Description of the Seminar

The present Internal Services for the Protection and Prevention of Occupational Risks (IOPP) training programme as provided for by the legislation KΔP238/2021 aims to prevent risks and ensuring Health and Safety in the workplace should be one of the main objectives of every company and business, both because it is required by the relevant legislation and because the creation of safer workplaces benefits not only the employees but also the business by increasing productivity.

Training Need

According to the legislation KΔP238/2021 the employer has a legal obligation to provide the minimum training to the designated ESRP persons. The same obligation also applies to self-employed persons or the employers themselves who will carry out the protection and prevention activities. The 35-hour programme covers specific modules of training required by the Department of Labour Inspection for the minimum training of those persons who will carry out the protection and prevention activities internally.

The obligations of employers and self-employed persons arise from various sources, such as:

(a) the application of production processes,
(b) modification, maintenance and cleaning of work areas, equipment, facilities,
(c) use of mechanical, electrical and electronic installations or equipment
(d) the presence of physical, chemical, biological, psychosocial, ergonomic, carcinogenic, mutagenic, and other harmful factors.

Training Objectives

At the end of the programme the trainees will be able to:

1. 1. Recognise the requirements of legislation and their corporate responsibility
   2. Apply the A&E Management Regulations and the rules of good practice.
   3. Recognise harmful factors in the workplace
   4. Propose measures of protection and prevention of occupational risks
   5. To prepare and update the Written Risk Assessment Study
   6. Develop and implement a Safety and Health Management System
   7. Develop and implement an emergency response plan
   8. Keep the Special Safety and Health Record of their business
   9. Prioritise the safety and health of themselves and their colleagues

The programme will train participants on how to ensure that the required training is provided to their managers, in accordance with the new regulations resulting from the legislation of Decree 158/2021. Every employer has a legal obligation to designate in writing a Team for the Internal Protection and Prevention Service (IPPS) of workplace risks. The members of the team (ESSP) will be responsible for the implementation of preventive measures on safety and health issues and through the programme they will receive training on specific topics, which are specified in Annex I, the Management of Safety and Health Issues at Work (Training of Employees, Self-employed Personnel, Members of the ESSP, Safety Representatives and Members of Safety Committees) Decree 2021 (Decree 238/2021).

Who it is aimed at

Employers or their representatives, A&E Representatives, Candidate Safety Officers, Safety Officers, Safety Committee Members, Self Employees.

Certification

The Training Centre is committed to awarding a Training Certificate to those participants who successfully complete the programme. The Training Certificate will state at the bottom that “The programme has been approved by the Human Resources Development Authority”.
